Focus and Scope

FUJC is an open-access online-only journal that publishes communications, full papers and review articles from all fields of chemistry. All scientists from all countries are encouraged to submit high quality manuscripts.

The purpose of the journal is to publish novel results from collaborating scientists as well as from researchers who are not associated with the GDRI.

Cooperation between scientists from different countries - it is always a unique combination of skills and knowledge. Every scientist comes from specific research group, which is known in the scientific community by their narrowly specialized investigations. Collaboration of scientists from different research institutions working on various scientific problems always brings interesting and often important for the world community results.

We will glad to see among the authors of French-Ukrainian Journal of Chemistry representatives from different countries, who are working towards the chemistry and related sciences, such as physics, biology, etc.

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to the French-Ukrainian Journal of Chemistry are subject to a single-blind review process, with appropriate reviewers selected from an extensive, inter-disciplinary panel.

Manuscripts are initially assessed by the Editors to ensure readiness for review. If deemed appropriate manuscripts are then sent out for review, after which one of the following recommendations may be made: accepted for publication, accepted subject to minor revisions, invited to resubmit following substantial revisions, submit elsewhere or declined. The review and publication process will usually be completed in around three months.

The criteria used to guide the review process include:
1. relevance to FUJC readership
2. coherence, readability and accessiblity
3. the soundness of its theory and methodology given the topic
4. its ability to communicate to readers (grammar and style)
5. originality and novelty

Publication Frequency

French-Ukrainian Journal of Chemistry aims to publish two issues per year depending on the number and quality of submissions received. The publication schedule may change from year to year, as the journal will only be published when there are at least four high quality papers that have been successfully reviewed and recommended for publication.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and citation levels. The journal uses open source software, developed by the Public Knowledge Project, to help make open access economically viable, as well as to improve the scholarly and public quality of research.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Ethics topics

Ethics topics to consider when publishing:

  • All authors listed on the manuscript should have contributed significantly to the experimental design, its implementation, or analysis and interpretation of the data. Any other individuals who made less substantive contributions to the experiment or the writing of the manuscript should be listed in the acknowledgement section.

Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal.

  • An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.

  • All submissions must include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest.

  • Journal editors treat the submitted manuscript and all communication with authors and referees as confidential. All manuscripts undergo single blind peer review.

  • Characterization of Chemical Compounds. Authors must provide sufficient information to establish the identity of a new compound and its purity. Sufficient experimental details must be included to allow other researchers to reproduce the synthesis. Characterization data and experimental details must be included either in the text.
